I've been practicing and studying the practice of Yoga Nidra since late 2016. I'm a devoted student and lean on this practice to increase my own self awareness. Before this practice, I can easily say that I had no reflective awareness. I was reactive, volatile and needy. I was a people pleaser because I couldn't stand to let anyone down. This led to a lot of mistrust with myself.
As an energy worker, I stepped into the energy field of my clients to translate back to them what I was "hearing". I always found myself accurate and reliable but, nothing has ever compared to what I am gathering now.
Once I began a regular practice of Yoga Nidra, and working with a Sankalpa (your Heart Truth), my whole perception of reality shifted. I saw the world as less scary and a safer place for me to show up and offer the gifts I was given. I stepped into my intuitive power by learning how to quickly switch into the alpha brain state. This is where the magic happens.
When you practice regularly, your brain is being trained to recognize and shift to this incredibly magical state without having to go through 20-40 minutes of internalization cues and relaxation. I can recognize immediately the shift in my energy and awareness once I access this brain state.
If you are pursuing something greater, there is no better place to start than with this practice. The brain is designed to learn, but it also has to unlearn subconscious thoughts we have stored from the womb until now. The practice of Yoga Nidra, works with the neuroplasticity of the brain and it's ability to form new thought patterns. Thought patterns that we choose, ones that are powerful, like - I am safe, I am loved, I am valued, I am worthy. The Sankalpa is the truth of the shadow that exists within us. The way that we made sense of our world when we were a child, can now be brought forward and looked at with whole eyes through your Sankalpa.
